Although she is now grandmother to two, as a young mother Jo Heptinstall worked as a professional model, both on the cat walk, photographic and TV advertising so she knows all about looking good!
Her work life has always revolved around design and utilizing her entrepreneurial skills, at the age of 25 she had her own business in Interior Design. In the late 80’s she discovered some medical research which intrigued her and after sending away to Universities in the USA for more information, she developed a Microcurrent device for tissue regeneration in the beauty market.
In the early 90’s she was one of the first on the market with Non Surgical Facelift, which took the UK by storm, mainly due to advocates such as Princess Dianna and Cliff Richard. Jo then went on to teach Microcurrent therapy to Salons, therapists and Colleges world wide.
In 2005 Jo discovered Guam; a clinically proven, patented seaweed product which is used by over 1 million Italian women to combat cellulite, she was very skeptical but decided to try the product for herself. Much to her amazement it actually worked, she then became the UK distributor and sells their complete range of Cellulite, Thalasso and Skin Care products through Beauty Salons and Spa’s in the UK.
Jo has worked closely with the Guam Study and Research team to take advantage of their 20 years experience in combating cellulite, this coupled with her experience in tissue regeneration has established her reputation as a British Beauty Expert in cellulite.
Jo has recently been working with Urban Retreat at Harrods running trials in preparation for a new and exciting body clinic to be opened in January 2008. The Jo Heptinstall Body Clinic at Urban Retreat will have specialised diagnostic equipment which can analyse every cell, muscle and organ in the body, the philosophy behind the clinic is to look at what is happening on the inside and then heal from the inside out.
Up until now the beauty industry has tended to just recommend one solution to a client who can’t lose weight or has cellulite, but Jo says we are all different, and have these problems for different reasons, we therefore need to give each client the benefit of a complete and thorough analyses to find the root of the problem and then take a multi faceted approach to dealing with it.
