WE LOVE SUNDAYS

Bringing you the best beauty interviews every Sunday

Allison Jacobs

It’s all about Natural Month on The Urban Retreat Beautique this April so in for a Sunday Q&A is Natural Health Magazine’s very own Deputy Editor, Allison Jacobs. Featuring some of the UK’s top holistic experts & writers, Natural Health Magazine includes everything from beauty to nutrition and everything in between to get you living clean. So in the know with plenty we want to know; Allison gives us her top health tips, the best way to cleanse skin and even lets us in on her favorite reads from the magazine.

Sunday Brunch Spot:

My back garden in the sun - it's so peaceful.

Bliss out treatment:

The Crème de la Mer facial is out of this world!

Tipple:

Sometimes a cocktail, sometimes a G&T.

Saturday Night - Dancing till dawn or takeaway and a movie?

Hmm…probably a bit of both if I’m honest!

My Top Five Products on The Urban Retreat Beautique

Favourite day of the week and why:

Friday - the week is over, I do a yoga class then go home and open a bottle of wine with my boyfriend.

My top health and fitness tip:

I take magnesium supplements religiously - it's amazing for hormones, migraines - everything really!

What’s your beauty mantra?

If you want to buy natural, chemical-free beauty products, always check the ingredients. I've learnt through working on the Natural Health Beauty Awards that products can say they are natural, but still be full of chemical nasties.

What food item can you absolutely not live without?

I'd be really upset if I couldn't have a roast dinner again!

Natural Health Magazine focuses on all things lifestyle that are natural and organic; what’s your favourite read in the magazine? (Outside of beauty of course!)

Aside from beauty, I'm a nutrition geek, and so any of our top experts' features on how to eat for better health are always my first must-reads.

Top 1-minute beauty tip:

I love having a hot cloth cleanse at home using just olive oil and a really hot flannel. Just massage the oil in to your skin, then steam off with the cloth - you won't believe how deeply it cleans.

I love to begin my day with…

Yoga, a cup of tea and a slice of organic orange cake; yummy!

What will we always find in your handbag?

The key to my bike lock. I cycle everywhere.

What are the last three things you bought on your bankcard?

Wine, some exotic chilli plants for my garden, and dinner with my mum.
