NO MASCARA

As so many amongst us will find the mascara habit a hard one to break, naked lashes are paradoxically, both one of the easiest and hardest of this season's looks. However, if you can bear it the omission of the lash-plumping mascara that we've all grown used to gives us the freedom to experiment with eyeliner and shadows to add definition to our precious peepers. If you really can't go without, swap your usual black mascara for clear or brown.

DARK LIPS

We’ll spare you the Twilight pun and just say blood-red lips are still hot, in shades from blackest plum to ruby claret. Coated with matching gloss they look rich and extravagant, or Pat McGrath’s matte mouths at Givenchy looked glamorously gothic. To replicate the Givenchy look pat on a matte lipstick with your finger- or draw on a stain with a pen applicator and blend the edges inwards. “It’s a milder way to wear the colour” Mcgrath says. Either way, lip liner in a natural tone is ESSENTIAL to prevent colour bleed. .
