Electrolysis works by inserting a fine needle into each hair follicle and inserting a small electrical current, paralysing further growth. Electrolysis is better suited to finer hair and smaller areas, while Laser can be used on larger areas, for thicker hairs that have been waxed or shaved previously, such as the legs.
